Collections Accessibility

As stated in the MSU Libraries' Accessibility Statement, we are committed to providing equal access to all library collections. Where we do not achieve accessibility, we welcome all accommodation requests and feedback.

The MSU Libraries Accessibility and Disabilities Studies guide provides an overview of information and resources related to accessibility, disability, and our Accessibility and Disability Studies collection.

Electronic Resources from Vendors & Publishers

To help us work toward more accessible library resources, we have implemented accessibility purchasing procedures for electronic resources (e-resources) that we purchase from vendors/publishers.

As part of these procedures, the Libraries is asking publishers/vendors:

If you have questions about the accessibility of specific vendor/publisher e-resources, please contact lib.dl.accessibility@msu.edu.

MSU Libraries' Digital Collections

Accessibility is also a priority for digital collections created by the MSU Libraries. Staff in our Digital Initiatives Division work on ensuring new digital collections are created with accessibility in mind and that the accessibility of older collections is improved.

Library Accessibility Alliance & Big Ten Library Accessibility Group

The MSU Libraries actively contributes to the Library Accessibility Alliance (LAA) and the Big Ten Academic Alliance Library Accessibility Group. As a LAA member, the MSU Libraries contribute to third-party accessibility evaluations of library e-resources. This program provides vendors with a report and the opportunity to improve the accessibility of their products while giving members of the library community information about the accessibility of specific library e-resources.
